Grace’s Story
From the Bedside to the Classroom
Grace Njie began her career like most home health clinicians — passionate about patient care, deeply committed to clinical excellence, and completely unprepared for the documentation demands that came with the job.
In those early years, she stayed late finishing notes, second-guessed OASIS items, and spent more time charting than she did with patients. She watched colleagues receive audit notices. She felt the anxiety that comes with incomplete documentation and unclear regulatory guidance.
“I didn’t become a clinician to struggle with paperwork. I became a clinician to change lives. So I set out to master the one thing standing between my mission and my patients: documentation.”
Over the years, Grace transformed her documentation weakness into her greatest clinical strength. She developed systems, studied every regulatory update, and became the person her peers called when they had charting questions.
